Grandview sits in Jackson County at the point where U.S. 71 becomes Interstate 49, on the high ground that gave the town its name. The 2020 census counted 26,209 residents — big enough for full services and a real Main Street, small enough that the barber knows your name. Downtown Kansas City is about 17 miles up I-49, and Belton, Raymore, and south KC are all a short drive.
